At Boerum Place, Avdoo has brought together complementary firms to orchestrate a unified vision that is fully realized. The design process was guided by a set of core values: community, longevity, and connection. Through meticulous attention to detail, the architecture, landscape, and interiors converge to unlock the full potential of the site.

Brent Buck Architects
Brent Buck Architects believes that architecture is a conversation between many to create simple, timeless solutions. Prioritizing projects that value collaboration, context, detail, and a curious use of materials, the goal is always a design that combines rigor with the warmth of craft to create spaces that are loved by those who inhabit them. Founder Brent Buck is renowned for his use of beautiful clean lines and minimalist touches, while ensuring that his spaces are not too perfect nor precious. This approach creates contemporary yet warm and inviting spaces, just like those throughout Boerum Place.

The Cobble Hill Historic District protects the area's distinguished residential buildings, constructed between the 1830s and 1920s. These structures are characterized by their distinctive brick and brownstone facades, bay windows, elegant stoops, and ornate detailing. Any new building within this setting must honor the existing architectural narrative while contributing to the ongoing story.
"We strive to achieve something that is simple in its complexity—as opposed to being complicated."
—Brent Buck

By thoughtfully layering contextual references, the building's design honors the history and stories of both the neighborhood and its residents, who share a deep connection with the corner of New York City that they call home.
"As a studio we have a focus on materials, craft, and resolution. There’s a warmth that we try to bring to fully resolved projects."
—Brent Buck

Brook Landscape
Brook Landscape is grounded in adaptability—blending refined selection with dynamic vision. Founder Brook Klausing believes that gardens should evolve over time, changing and adapting with their surroundings and those who tend them, while always complementing the spatial intelligence of a building’s layout. At Boerum Place, the team led by Brook Klausing carefully considered longevity to design layered landscapes that would be instantly successful, but also hold a strong narrative over the course of decades.
"We've created transportive moments that could almost make you feel like you're somewhere else."
—Brook Klausing

Collaborative Synergy
The synergy between architecture, interiors, and landscapes throughout the building is the result of a deeply collaborative design process. A unique character is instantly established through the intentional choices of material, color, and plantings that ground Boerum Place in its surroundings, creating a contemporary icon that doesn’t shout; it whispers softly.
Brent Buck Architects and Brook Landscape’s long-standing professional relationship was key to achieving a cohesive design language that flows poetically throughout Boerum Place.
